LUSH KITCHEN DELIVERY

Yaaaaay so this morning my Lush Kitchen delivery came :). About an hour after this arrived I also got an e-mail saying that they had dispatched my next kitchen order. And I got some samples too yay. I love how the boxes always arrived perfectly packed, smelling gorgeous and always with these cute polaroids.

Also the smell of the dirty shower gel is AMAZING, I definitely want to purchase a full size of this, and that’s before I’ve even used it!

So I ordered the Banana moon soap, the Strawberry boat shower smoothie and the after tango foot mask. The After Tango foot mask smells absolutely amazing, really fresh and zingy, I definitely prefer the smell to my Volcano foot mask and can only wish that this was the permanent foot mask.

When I opened the strawberry boat shower smoothie it really wasn’t what I was expecting, the ginger smell is a lot stronger than I thought it would be and the overall smell reminds me of a malt strawberry milkshake. For some reason I thought it was going to be very sweet and overpoweringly strawberryish. I will be reviewing all these products soon I just wanted to share what had arrived whilst some stuff is still available in the kitchen in case anyone wanted to order some of it.

Lush Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar

So I have somehow managed to accumulate two of these but after using it for the first time today I am super glad because it is amazing! Massage bars are one of my favourite products from lush because they feel like a treat.

These are a permanent lush product and retail at RRP £5.95. Available online and in store.

This is a really cute looking little massage bar, A lovely pale pink colour and moulded into the shape of a strawberry with some detailing to make it look like the cute little fruit.

Obviously the main smell of this bar is strawberry however the scent of this massage bar reminds me of the smell of a lush shop. When I used it my skin and everything around me just smelt like that first blast of smell when you walk into a lush shop.

Trade shea butter, and extra virgin olive oil are in the massage bar which makes for a really moisturizing and nourishing experience on the skin. What’s really nice about this massage bar as well is that it doesn’t feel too greasy and dries up fairly quickly leaving the skin feeling soft.

To use simply rub the bar over the skin and product will melt off on to the skin due to the body heat. Then massage the product into the skin. I really like to take the time to sit somewhere quiet and light a candle when I use this product. Really use it as a time out and relaxation activity.

Lush D’Fluff Shaving Cream Review

Morning peachies, it’s a rainy day where I currently live and I’m writing a quick post before I head off to uni for the day. Also hoping the post man comes before I have to leave as goodies are arriving >:).

So today I will be reviewing D’Fluff shaving cream by Lush. This is currently a permanent product in stores and retails for RRP £5.75 for the 70g pot and RRP £9.95 for the 150g pot.

Personally I don’t normally use shaving cream, I spend a lot of money on wax which never works and a RIDICULOUS amount on a decent razor and blades, so normally I ditch the shaving cream. Not only that but in the past when I have just bought Gillette shaving cream from boots it hasn’t made any difference to the shave than just lathering my shower gel with a soap (which is what I normally do).

I am currently using the Gillette Swirl which has a ball type thing on it so that it can fit across bumps and stuff easier. How dandy. This is a fairly decent razor anyway so I thought it was doing the best job a razor can do but apparently not.

Firstly D’fluff smells amazing and it’s pink, it just looks so lovely in the pot and smells so nice you want to eat it. Don’t eat it. But anyway, as with Lush stuff it is all natural so it doesn’t smell like other brands ‘strawberry’ products, it is a really subtle smell but it stays on the skin and is not overpowering. Something I love about all lush products. They genuinely make you smell amazing whereas other products I find are heavily scented but the scent disappears really quickly.

The texture is like a mousse, some people use D’fluff on dry skin and get a really close shave however I always find this clogs up my razor really bad. I used d’fluff on slightly damp skin after I got out of the bath and before I showered and rinsed my hair out. I always like to shave at this point as my skin just responds a lot better to shaving, it is cleaner and doesn’t dry my skin out as much.

I found you do need to use quite a bit of this product, I would say you could get 3-4 uses out of the smaller pot which is a little bit annoying for me as I do like to shave everyday, my end shave was a lot smoother than normal however so I might find that I could leave it to every other day which would cut down on blade cost and probably balance out the additional buying of d’fluff.

When I lathered it on my skin it melts down from being a fluff as much but just a thick coating on top of your skin. This stuff plays hell with your razor so make sure you rinse it properly after every stroke. Thats the only way to stop it really clogging up your blade, and doing this always gives a better shave anyway.

I really have been converted to shaving cream, normally, even with a brand new blade my legs aren’t completely smooth, they still feel bumpy even after I exfoliate. I would definitely recommend this product, especially if you are already using another shaving cream as this is far superior to any that I have previously tried.

Lush Each Peach Massage Bar

IMG_0786

So for anyone who has ever used a lush massage bar, they are absolutely amazing, you simply glide them over your skin and a bit of the product melts on to your skin with the heat. Somehow this one had managed to miss my attention and my friend pointed it out as I love peach!

This is currently a regularly stocked product and retails at £5.95

How cute is the design!! It features these cute little peach flowers on it, I think this is the only reason for the naming seeing as the peaches aren’t involved in the scent or ingredients.

So weird thing, there isn’t actually any peach in it haha, It is based on citrus smells like lime orange and mandarin. The weird thing is that it doesn’t smell heavily citrusy, to me it smells very sweet, I would say like orange sherbert but it isn’t zingy at all. God it’s hard to describe, it is definitely lighter than most citrus scents and I think this may be why some people think it does smell like peaches a bit? Anyway…

As with all Lush massage bars it is so soft and luxurious on the skin, it does take a while to massage in and stop being sticky so I wouldn’t recommend using it right before bed. I tend to use it after having a bath as it seems to sink into my skin better and the scent stays a lot longer.

The best thing about massage bars over moisturisers I find though is that they feel luxurious, it is like a mini treatment, you take time out to do it and it just feels a bit more special? It makes me want to find a peach candle that I can burn whilst I use it.

Lush Celebrate Body Lotion

Okay so for those who aren’t aware this is actually a Christmas special so is not currently in circulation however you can find them on ebay or by swapping and selling with other lushies.

I got this as part of the 12 days of Christmas gift set (which was totally amazing!).

This scent is amazing, I believe it is an all year scent in Japan. It shares the scent of the golden wonder Christmas bath bomb. It is really citrusy, the scent is based on oranges and limes and is really really zesty. The only slight issue I had with this is how the scent changes when applied to the skin. It still smells nice and similar to in the pot but in my opinion it has a slight bitterness to the smell.

The major up point of this body lotion for me is the moisturising properties it contains cocoa butter and an application of a small amount makes the skin really really soft. Not only this but it doesn’t feel sticky at all it sinks nicely into the skin.
